My name is Jess Munro and I am an artist living and working in Grey Forest, Texas. I started painting about 8 years ago after a long hiatus from any hands-on involvement in the fine arts. My current medium is acrylic, and I like the flexibility of it and the endless variety of effects that one can produce with it. I have also worked in digital photography for a number of years. I am and always have been deeply affected by the aesthetic of my environment, and my work reflects the beauty of the world we live in. Sometimes this is in obvious subjects such as dramatic or scenic landscapes, but sometimes it is less obvious ones like old objects, interesting shadows, or intriguing textures. My paintings and photographs show my passion for color and the various moods that can be inspired by it. They also convey my deep love for travel, as I find that there is nothing more inspiring and life-changing than traveling somewhere new in the world, and experiencing different kinds of beauty. I hope to travel yet farther and wider in this magnificent world, and find exciting new subjects for my works.
“Every production of an artist should be the expression of an adventure of his soul.” -- W. Somerset Maugham.
